Ok, so I know it's been a while since my last post and I'm feeling the need to express myself and keep everyone up to date with my crazy/busy life. So, let's chat about what's new. I'm coming up on my last year of school before I finally get awarded a Bachelor of Science in Public Health with a minor in Marketing. But, although I should be thinking about summer and enjoying the warm sunny weather, that is the last thing that has been on my mind.
I am stressed out as normal, anyone that knows me well knows that sometimes I take on a little too much. This summer has been the definition of "taking on too much." I am currently taking 10 units of class in 8 weeks, which is absolutely insane! I am taking a physiology class which has come to take over my evenings Monday through Thursday, sigh. But the class that I am the most excited about is my EMT-National Registry Class. So an EMT is an Emergency Medical Technician, like a paramedic but with less responsibility. This class rocks! It is some serious hard work that leaves you rewarded with skills that give you the ability to save lives. I am already impressed with the amount of knowledge that I have learned. I find myself constantly asking people to take their blood pressure and their pulse. I have a burning desire to give someone CPR, although I don't wish any heart problems or cardiac/respiratory arrest on anyone. Although, it's surprising that heart disease has taken a hold of so much of the population, you would think that there would be peeps dropping like flies everywhere you go. I also have a questionable desire to shock someone with an AED.
As you can see, I am so amped that this class is going to teach me things that I will be able to use on a daily basis once I really enter into the Health field. I have decided to apply for jobs as an ER -tech or as an EMT on an ambulance, after I complete this class. So excited! If you haven't already figured it out, my days in the insurance business are numbered. I'm actually giving my notice to the Gecko tomorrow, you know all good things come to an end. The job came with good and bad, good being I got paid great for it. Bad, outweighing the good tenfold, stressed out, ripping people off, and getting yelled at constantly about our policies, let me tell that people over the phone have absolutely no shame, none! My next blog might be about all the ridiculous calls I've ever had, and there has been a lot. It was a good job while it lasted, I never thought I would know so much about auto insurance and driving laws in my wildest dreams, so if you have any questions at all in the future about insurance, I would be happy to help.
Anyways, stay tuned. Much Love! Muah
